Disappointing.

There, got that out of the way.

I was tempted to just leave it at that. One word review. But truth be told, it wasn’t a bad movie. The visuals were stunning. The cenobites looked amazing. Like Doug Bradley, I approve of the new incarnation of Pinhead. Not only did she look cool as fuck, she played the part well.

It just didn’t feel like Hellraiser. It felt like every other horror movie that starts out with a group of young people doing stupid things as we watch them gradually picked off. If I wanted to watch Scream, I’d watch Scream, ya know?

Anyway, watch it or don’t. It didn’t give me the Hellraiser nostalgia, but it’s a decent movie in its own right.
